Coming from another tool

ExplanationFor data managers and senior leaders

This page maps the terms used in 4Matrix, FFT Aspire, and the assessment features of SIMS, Arbor and Bromcom to Sisra Analytics. It also says how to bring data from each into Sisra. Facts about other products are as at October 2026, from their own help and product pages. Check their current help before you follow a menu path.

Sisra has no live link to any MIS for pupils, students or grades. You export files from your MIS or another tool and upload them to Sisra. These rules apply whichever tool you used before:

  • files can be .csv, .xlsx, .xls or .xml, and the Sisra Excel Add-In has not been needed since November 2024
  • each set of grades, such as targets or one data drop, is a separate file
  • every pupil or student needs the same Student ID in every file for their cohort
  • nothing reaches the reports until you publish it

Juniper Education uses Wonde, or Juniper MIS, only to bring staff records across for signing in. Import student data, Upload grades and Publish data to the reports cover the steps.

The nearest Sisra term is a close match, not always the same thing. Terms are as each product used them as at October 2026.

In Sisra, a data set holds one full set of grades, such as Targets or Mocks. An assessment collection holds one data drop in the Assessments area. Data sets, assessment collections and grade types explains both.

As at October 2026, 4Matrix brings in pupil, class and exam data with extract tools for several MIS products. Termly grades go in through a spreadsheet import of MIS marksheets, and KS2 and KS4 baselines come from GIAP. 4Matrix Cloud is replacing 4Matrix Desktop and Infinity during 2026.

Sisra has no import for 4Matrix files, so you rebuild each cohort from your MIS and from GIAP:

  • set up your filters and grade methods in CONFIG
  • import each cohort’s student data from an MIS report
  • download KS2 results from GIAP and upload them as KS2 baselines
  • upload termly grades from your MIS marksheet exports, with Sisra Student IDs
  • publish

To bring earlier years’ exam results across for trends, contact support before you start.

As at October 2026, FFT Aspire takes pupil and class data through a live link to the MIS. FFT Estimates give each pupil a benchmark grade and the chance of each grade, based on prior attainment and similar pupils nationally. Schools set targets from them by choosing a level of challenge: FFT50 is average progress, and FFT20 the progress of the top 20% of schools.

Sisra has no FFT import. To use FFT estimates or targets in Sisra:

  • export them from Aspire as a spreadsheet, following FFT’s current help
  • add each pupil’s Sisra Student ID, for example with a VLOOKUP formula
  • upload them to a data set you have renamed for them, or as baselines for target-based EAPs

The demo school, for example, has a data set called KS3 FFT Est. Each grade must exist in the qualification’s grade method, or Sisra flags it as Grade Not In Method. FFT estimates are not A8 estimates: Progress 8 in Sisra uses the A8 Estimates: you choose when you publish.

As at October 2026, SIMS 7 Assessment Manager holds grades in marksheets built from templates, using aspects, grade sets and result sets. Juniper provides files for exporting from SIMS, dated March 2025, on the help centre article How do I extract data from my MIS? (Admin):

  • a report definition, SISRA Analytics Students Report, for student data
  • guides to building assessment templates and marksheets for grades

The guides give these points:

  • import the report definition with Reports > Import, then run it to Excel one year group at a time
  • turn off Suppress duplicates when you run it, or rows go missing
  • build one template for each type of grade and year group, with a student ID column and columns named as your Sisra qualifications
  • export the marksheet unformatted, and remove the result-set name from the column headings

For the Student ID, the exam number is on SIMS exam results downloads, but the admission number is not. The guides advise against using the unique pupil number (UPN) for new cohorts, because it is sensitive. These steps are for SIMS 7: as at October 2026, Juniper’s guides do not cover SIMS Next Gen.

As at October 2026, Arbor records marks in Data Collections, each with a mark-entry window, a deadline and approvals, set by a Data Collection Policy. Targets can come from school target rules, by period or for the end of the year.

Arbor’s help centre has an article on exporting to Sisra Analytics, last updated in November 2024. It describes:

  • student data from a report template you download from Arbor, one year group at a time
  • assessment marks from School > Custom Report Writer, with Arbor Student ID labelled Student ID

That article also says to run each file through the Sisra Excel Add-In. Sisra has not needed the Add-In since November 2024, so upload the Excel file as it is.

As at October 2026, Bromcom builds Assessment Sheets from Assessment Types, such as predicted grades, current grades, targets and mock results. Each uses a Gradeset, a Markset and Terms. Its KS4 Performance Dashboard uses Attainment Estimates, from the DfE or imported, and Subject Mapping to QN codes.

Juniper’s help centre has no Bromcom report definitions. To bring data across:

  • build a student data file from a Bromcom report, with the columns in your Sisra Student Data Profile
  • export grades to Excel from Modules > Assessment > View/Amend Assessment Data, one file for each data set or collection

Set up student data columns and filters lists the columns Sisra expects.
