About Sisra Analytics

ExplanationFor everyone

Sisra Analytics is Juniper Education’s analytics product for secondary schools, sixth forms and multi-academy trusts. Your school uploads its pupils’ and students’ details, starting points and grades, then publishes them as reports. Staff use the reports to look at attainment and progress, from the whole cohort down to one pupil or student.

Choose the page for your role. Each one covers the parts of Sisra you will use first.

If you have not used Sisra before, read Sign in and switch schools first, then Find your way around.

Sisra holds three kinds of information for each cohort:

  • student data: names, classes and characteristics such as SEN, EAL and disadvantaged, which become filters in the reports
  • baselines: starting points, such as KS2 scaled scores at KS3/4 and KS4 results at KS5, and any of your own, such as targets
  • grades: exam results, targets, mocks and the grades from each data drop

Sisra has no live link to your management information system (MIS). An administrator exports each file from the MIS, or from elsewhere, and uploads it. Nothing appears in the reports until the administrator publishes it. How data gets into the reports explains the steps in between.

The reports show attainment and progress at every level, from the whole cohort to one qualification, class, pupil or student. Headline figures, such as Attainment 8 and Progress 8, follow the DfE’s rules for the year you choose. They are Sisra’s calculations from your school’s data, not the DfE’s published figures.

Expected Attainment Pathways (EAPs) set the grade your school expects from each starting point at each term. The reports compare grades with them to show who is on track. Sisra Data Collaboration compares your figures with those of other schools that take part, before the DfE publishes national data. Trend reports compare your exam results across years.

Sisra has two areas, each with its own data and reports.

AreaYear groupsMeasures it follows
KS3/4Years 7 to 11The DfE’s key stage 4 measures, such as Attainment 8, Progress 8, and English and maths at grade 4 or above and grade 5 or above
KS5Years 12 and 13The DfE’s 16 to 19 measures, such as level 3 value added, attainment, and English and maths progress

The DfE renamed its “16 to 18” measures “16 to 19” on 1 September 2026.

The 24/25 and 25/26 cohorts took no KS2 tests, so the DfE publishes no Progress 8 for them. Sisra shows Progress 8 for these cohorts only if your school uploads its own KS2 conversion, and that figure is not the DfE’s. Progress 8 returns for the 26/27 cohort, who took KS2 tests in 2022. See Progress 8 for cohorts without KS2 results.

You work on one cohort at a time. A cohort is named by the academic year in which it finishes year 11, at KS3/4, or year 13, at KS5. For example, in the 2026 to 2027 academic year the year 11 cohort is 26/27 (Current Yr 11). The cohort that left in summer 2026 is 25/26 (Leavers). Sisra moves the labels on each August, so there is no roll over button.

Each cohort’s grades sit in data sets, such as Exams, and in assessment collections, one for each time your school collects grades. Each becomes its own report when it is published. See Data sets, assessment collections and grade types.

Your school’s subscription decides which areas it has: KS3/4, KS5 or both. An area your school does not have is missing from DATA, CONFIG and REPORTS, and its actions are greyed out in authority groups.

Other features depend on your trust, your choices or your set-up:

FeatureWhat it depends on
Sisra Data CollaborationKS3/4 only. Your school opts in to each year’s event in CONFIG and passes the set-up checks. Without it, reports have no Collaboration figures, Subject Progress Index (SPI) or Transition Matrix
Sisra Multi-SchoolA separate product for trusts. Your published data reaches it only if your school is linked to a trust that uses it. KS5 data also needs the trust’s KS5 subscription
Attitude to Learning (AtL)Categories set up in CONFIG, and judgements uploaded alongside grades
Sisra Basic Projections (SBP)KS3/4 only. EAPs with expected grades, and the option turned on when you publish
Custom Attainment 8 estimatesAvailable to every KS3/4 school
Cohort sizeUp to 650 in a cohort. Juniper can raise the limit for a KS5 cohort to 2,500

What you see also depends on your authority group, so colleagues may see different menus. See Authority groups and permissions.

To search, select Search the guides or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac), then type a task, report or term. On this page jumps to a section of the page you are reading.

Words in bold, such as Publish Grades, are labels you will see on screen. They are copied exactly, with Sisra’s own capitals and spacing, such as KS 3/4 on the REPORTS page.

Sisra’s screens say Students for everyone. This guide follows the DfE: pupils are in years 7 to 11, and students are in the sixth form. Sisra’s own names for its features keep the word student, such as student data and Student ID.

Screenshots come from Juniper’s demo school, SISRA Demonstration, which the guide calls the demo school. Every staff and student name on them is fictional. Your own screens may differ, depending on your authority group, your subscription and your school’s settings.

Boxes marked Note add useful detail. Warning boxes flag a risk to your data, or to a statutory or data protection duty. Good practice boxes summarise advice from national guidance and research.

National measures and dates change each year, so the guide gives the year of each one. The foot of each page shows when it was last reviewed.

If something is not working, try Troubleshooting first. Questions and answers covers what data managers ask most, and the Glossary explains Sisra’s terms. Get support and training explains how to contact Juniper. What’s changed lists changes to Sisra, such as signing in through Juniper Portal since August 2026.
